Ke$ha seriously surprises me. When I first heard “Tik Tok” on the radio and fell in love with it that instant. The girl you see in the picture above was not the picture I had in my mind. I thought possibly a scene girl? Like the Millionaires,maybe? I don’t know.When I saw the video [Which was one of the dumbest videos of the year,quite frankly.]that was nowhere near what I imagined her to look like,which only made my curiosity grow about her.I have heard some of her other songs,their alright. I’m not saying she will be the GAGA of 2010,but I don’t think shes going anywhere anytime soon.
09.The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have no need to explode. They’re already so big in the indie scene. “Maps” is on rock band,life is great.I think with their newest album”It’s Blitz” and songs like “Heads Will Roll”,”Runaway”and “Zero.” That the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will have a huge mainstream success in 2010.Not that they need it or anything..
08.Say Anything!
Say Anything made it big it in what 2004? With “Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too”. Great song,but really I doubt that Say Anything! wants to be remembered as the band who had the “and she touched herself” song. Do you? Well with their 2009 album “Say Anything” I think this year will change that for them. Honestly,I hate Say Anything!,I always have. For some odd reason I loved this album. Their not my kind of music,I always disliked their music,but their was something so addictive about this album. The catchy songs,Max Bemis lyrics. It’s great and I think as more singles come out,everyone will be drawn to the album like I was,because once you hear one song you will be looking for more.
07.La Roux
Ben Langmaid and Elly Jackson the duo who make up La Roux. A electronic dance new wave sounding band from England. I actually found out about LA Roux when I saw when they were nominated for an MTVu Woodie award. I was amazed at the female lead singers red “A Flock of Seagulls” hair do,which I considered interesting to say at the least. As I listened to more and more of their music it was really my style and I liked it. They remind me of today’s version of The Eurythmics (The band that made Sweet Dreams(are made of this),you know what I’m talking about.) I think as more people find out about them,they will grow and become more popular. I could totally see myself in the neat future hearing “Bulletproof” on the radio.
06.Passion Pit
Everyone is just finding out about Passion Pit,and loving them dearly. Passion Pit is fun. Their music automatically puts you in a good mood.It’s very universal to in my opinion. Their flashy music videos,their music which sounds so different then anything else that is really out there and popular right now. For sure 2010 will be Passion Pit’s year.
05.Millionaires
These lady’s are pretty big in the “myspace” scene and warped tour scene,but I have a huge feeling will be the year of the Millionaires. Seeing their videos on MTV after every show,turning on the radio and hearing edited versions of their songs? I see that all happening this year for these ladys,and it’s about time. I’m no Millionaire fan,but I knew as soon as I heard them,that they will be big soon.I have a really good feeling that,this will happen with in the next two months.
04.Space Cowboy
Yes,an elite member of Lady Gaga’s “Haus of Gaga” Yes that is him in Lady Gaga’s “Starstruck” and “Christmas Tree”.He also has his own album that I can see anyone who loves Gaga loving. It’s the same energy electronic,and fun. You can’t help to automatically wanna start dancing when you hear it. Look good of a year his good friend Lady Gaga has had,it could totally be repeated with Space Cowboy.
03.Morningwood
With their new album coming out with their hits from their EP “Sugarbaby” including the song “SugarBaby” and the opening song of the Reality tv Series “Daisy of Love” entitled “Best of Me” I have a good feeling about Morningwood. I feel as if in 2010 they will finally get the recognition they have deserved for so long. You know them remember in 2006 the songs “th Degree” and “Take Off Your Clothes” that was them. Fronted by Chantal Claret,Little Jimmy Urine of Mindless Self Indulgence ‘s wife. I think Morningwood with their amazing energy filled songs and spunky attitude will finally get the fame they deserve.
02.Semi Precious Weapons
Semi Precious Weapons may have a six foot bisexual singer,who dresses as if he belongs in The New York Dolls,but with all the publicity that has been following that band this year,I know for a FACT they will be big in 2010. Weather it’s Justin Tranter’s(that lead singer I was just speaking of’) jewelry line,multiple appearances on Chelsea Lately,him being the made coach of a shy little girl who wanted to be in a band or the whole band being the opening act of Lady Gaga on her MONSTER BALL tour. They are highly original their songs are contagiously catchy this is their year. I know it!
01.MUSE
MUSE has been around for years,I thought that were pretty big. I was shocked when I was watching the MTV music video awards and heard that that was their first EVER American TV performance!? What!? I have been listening to MUSE for years I thought every had,actually. I guess not,until Uprising came out this year? The new Muse album is amazing don’t get me wrong,but nothing beats their old stuff. I think all their new singles will be coming out and getting heavy air play but I think new Muse fans will go and listen to their old albums and their old songs will also become very popular again. Maybe hearing starlight on the radio all the time? Who can’t love that song?
